⚠️ Adult Content Warning

The Corrupted Forest is an 18+ text-based game containing explicit sexual content, fantasy violence, and themes of corruption and loss of control. Do not play if you are under 18 or if this type of content is not legal in your jurisdiction.

About

You wake up on the forest floor with no name, no past, and no explanation. A hunter finds you before something else does.

He gives you a coin purse and a crooked little house at the edge of Oakridge — a quiet logging village that has been getting less quiet lately. The animals are behaving strangely. The crops near the tree line are being damaged by something nobody has seen. The elder says the forest has an intention to it now that it didn't have before.

You go into the forest anyway. That's where it starts.

What kind of game is this?

The Corrupted Forest is a slow-burn text adventure built in Twine (SugarCube). It's more interactive fiction than action game — every scene is written out in full, combat included. The focus is on atmosphere, character, and the slow creep of something wrong in a world that looks almost ordinary.

The adult content, when it appears, is woven into the story rather than bolted on. The creatures you encounter have their own behaviours and relationships that develop over time.

Features

  • Turn-based combat with stamina, lust, and restraint mechanics — fights can go in directions beyond just winning or losing
  • Living world — time of day matters, NPCs have schedules, conversations change as the story progresses
  • Character progression — spend essence to upgrade stats, level up to improve base values, and watch your body change as corruption and strength accumulate
  • Appearance customisation — set your height, hair, eyes, skin, and more in a mirror scene early in the game
  • NPC relationships — the hunter, the bartender, the village elder, and the farmer each have their own arc and their own way of noticing what's happening
  • Creature relationships — repeated encounters with the same enemy leave a mark on both of you

Current content

The game is in active early development. The current build includes:

  • The full Oakridge opening: your arrival, the house, the village, the tavern
  • Four NPCs with dialogue that evolves based on your progress (Reid the hunter, Marcus the bartender, Aldric the elder, John the farmer)
  • One quest line (the farmer's monster)
  • One enemy: the Slime — with a full combat system, growth stages, and post-combat scenes (NSFW gated)
  • Essence upgrade system
  • Inventory and gear framework
  • A day/night cycle

More enemies, a second town, and deeper corruption mechanics are in progress.

Controls

Mouse only. All choices appear as buttons at the bottom of the screen. The sidebar shows your current stats, active quest, and time of day.

Content warnings

Beyond the general 18+ flag: this game contains non-consensual sexual scenarios (monster/creature content), body transformation themes, and content that escalates in intensity as the story progresses. Everything explicit involves fantastical creatures, not human NPCs.

A note on how this was made

I want to be upfront about this: I used AI assistance to help build this game, and I think that's worth saying honestly rather than hiding.

The ideas are mine. The concept, the world, the characters, the tone, the things I wanted the game to feel like — all of it started with me. I've wanted to make something like this for a long time.

What I struggled with was getting there. Twine's mechanics didn't click for me the way I needed them to. English is not my first language, and writing whole scenes with the atmosphere I had in my head felt out of reach on my own. AI gave me a way to bridge that gap — to take what I was imagining and actually turn it into something playable.

I don't think that makes the game less mine. Every direction, every decision about what stays and what changes, every "no, that's not the feeling I want" — that was me. The AI was a tool, the same way Twine itself is a tool.

I just didn't want to pretend otherwise.
